Matte World Digital was formed
in 1988 by Industrial Light + Magic alumni who set out to
create and develop the most realistic visual effects shots
possible while still remaining affordable. The company is
available for all types of projects, including non-effects
driven pictures that need visual-effects shots. Craig Barron,
founder and visual effects supervisor, is an Academy-Award
winner for his visual effects work in The Curious Case
of Benjamin Button.
For more than
20 years, we've designed and produced digital visual effects
for films,
television,
commercials,
interactive
formats, and
special projects
by using the latest techniques in digital
compositing and computer graphics. MWD began in gone from
critically acclaimed classic effects-work in Batman Returns
and Clear and Present Danger, to digitally rendered
effects for such highly-regarded films as Martin Scorsese's
Casino, and David Fincher's Zodiac, and The
Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
We offer a full spectrum
of visual effects services. As consultants, we work with the
director and staff to develop their vision and find solutions
that remain within the production's budget. We create a budget
and break-down of effects within the script, as well as design,
develop and produce shots. We provide camera equipment and
trained crews for plate photography on location, and we offer
blue and green screen facilities in our own studios.
Our clients have included
Disney, Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, 20th Century
Fox, Amblin Entertainment, Castle Rock Entertainment, Morgan
Creek, American Zoetrope and Warner Brothers. We've done commercial
work for AT&T, Coca Cola and Honda, as well as the effects
in Michael Jackson's Black or White music video. We have worked
with the most highly acclaimed directors of our time to put
their ideas on the screen.
