To ensure that you see the images on this website the way they were
intended, please take a moment to adjust your display. We reccomend that you
use the highest resolution that you can comfortably see. We strongly
recommend that you set your display adapter to the highest refresh rate it can
support -- no less than 72Hz. And, most importantly, you should set your
display to the highest color depth it can support -- at least 65,000 colors on
Windows systems, "Thousands of Colors" on Macs.
The Accurate Image
Manipulation website has a very thorough, accurate discussion of
digital image reproduction, including monitor calibration.
You can use the following images to see if your monitor is adjusted
reasonably correctly. If the images look radically different than described,
we recommend that you go through the monitor
calibration steps listed by the Accurate Image Manipulation website.

The above image should appear as 24 squares each with perceptable differences in
brightness. Additionally, a small square of subtly different brightness
should be visible in each of the larger squares.
