The Truman Show

Matte World Digital continues to pioneer the development of the digital backlot. This technique allowed the production to photograph a partially constructed location set with complete freedom of camera movement. After original photography was finished, MWD was able to complete the partially constructed set with the use of 3-D matte painting techniques and motion tracking.

The original plate photographed on an exterrior set in Florida. Only the first story of the background buildings was constructed on the set.
