MWD added a river around the fictional town of Seahaven and provided a curved horizon to suggest Truman's domed soundstage world.

Helicopter photography of the Seaside, Florida location had to be altered to depict Truman's world.

Additional elements include moving clouds warped to conform to the simulated sky, and animated river water to blend with the surrounding ocean.

MWD also created a series of shots that reveal the true nature of Truman's world. Digital matte paintings for clouds and computer generated water fill out the scene that was originally filmed in a studio water tank.

Truman's sailboat is photographed in a water tank in front of a painted sky backing.

A sequence in the film establishes that Truman has reached the end of his world.

MWD was given footage shot in the daytime and asked to create an establishing shot of Truman's world at night.

Original plate photography was shot in the daytime from a helicopter flying over Seaside Florida.

Composite showing the finished night shot including added lighthouse, surrounding water and hyper-moon (containing Christof's office) with CG reflections.
